TSHA 112th Annual Meeting Program

The Texas State Historical Association held its 112th Annual Meeting March 5-8, 2008 at the Omni Bayfront Tower Hotel in Corpus Christi. 

For the first time, TSHA partnered with the Hispanic Heritage of Texas Project to offer additional intriguing sessions. The TSHA Program Committee, under the leadership of Chair Light Cummins, constructed an excellent meeting program with an incredible group of sessions on all aspects of Texas History.

In 2008, joint sessions with other historical organizations included the Texas Catholic Historical Society, Texas Oral History Association, the Texas State Historical Commission, the Texas Baptist Historical Society, the Texas Archeological Society, the Texas Map Society, the Society of Southwest Archivists, and Texas Parks & Wildlife. Also scheduled were the Handbook of Texas workshop, the Quarterly and publications workshop, the business meeting, and various committee meetings. In addition, the Webb Society Annual Meeting was held Friday with chapter reports and the presentation of four papers.

Silent Auction of Texana

A long-standing highlight of the annual meeting, the Texana Silent Auction presented a great source for superb books, maps, manuscripts, and objects. The money raised directly benefitted the programs the Association sponsors.
