Off-site Tours

Downtown and Stockyards Tour Fort Worth Stockyards
1:30 p.m.
Join Doug Harman, former Fort Worth City Manager and head of the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau, for a driving tour through downtown highlighting the original fort site, Sundance Square, the site of JFK’s last speeches, historic train stations and more. The tour continues to the historic Stockyards where the group will do a walking tour including a visit to the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame where Harman has an exhibit about the Chisholm Trail. There will be time for shopping or visiting “watering holes” before finishing the visit with the 4 p.m. cattle drive.

Tickets are $25 each and must be purchased prior to February 18. Tickets are limited. Meet in the lobby at 1:20 p.m. to board the bus. The bus will return to the hotel at approximately 5:00 p.m.

 

Fort Worth Museum Tour Amon Carter
1:30 p.m.
Take a tour of the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame followed by a guided tour of the Amon Carter Museum with Ron Tyler.

Tickets are $25 each and must be purchased prior to February 18. Tickets are limited. Meet in the lobby at 1:30 p.m. to board the bus. The bus will return to the hotel at approximately 5:00 p.m.

 

Tarrant County Courthouse and Archives Tour Tarrant county courthouse
1:30 p.m.

Judge Steven King will tell the history of the courthouse, followed by a guided tour by Archivist Dawn Youngblood of the 9,000 square foot Tarrant County Archives, which hold more than 500 named collections.

Tickets are $25 each and must be purchased prior to February 18. Tickets are limited. Meet in the lobby at 1:30 p.m. to walk with the group. The group will return at approximately 4:00 p.m.
