Volunteers Needed

We are preparing for the Texas State Historical Association 2012 Texana Auction and need your help!

The Silent Auction is scheduled for March 1-3 at the Omni Hotel in Houston. We are recruiting volunteers to help with several phases of the event, and hope you will give of your time to benefit the Texas State Historical Association. We need at least 20 volunteers to make this another successful event.  We need volunteers to help with silent auction registration, monitoring items, closing, and checkout throughout our three day event.  Your help is appreciated and you will have a great time.

How to Volunteer

  • Silent Auction assistance 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Shift 2 (Answer questions, help secure items, pull winning bid sheets)
  • Closing – 4 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. Arrive on time for training (assist guests with check in, gathering bid sheets, data entry)

  • Check out – 7:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Arrive on time for training (print invoices, take payment)
  • Pick-up – 7:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. (assist guests with getting their winning items)

Where do I park?

Complimentary Riverway Garage Parking: FREE, present ticket to concierge for validation, daily. (From the valet drive, turn right onto Riverway. Follow it until you see the parking garage on the right. Use the second entrance to the right. After parking, walk along the path to the hotel. Stay on the sidewalk and follow the path along the patio deck and through the double doors. Proceed up the ramp and turn left at the end of the walkway. The front desk is straight ahead.)
