ACHUBALE INDIANS. The Achubale Indians were one of twenty groups that joined Juan Domínguez de Mendoza^qv on his journey from El Paso to the vicinity of present San Angelo in 1683-84. Since Domínguez did not indicate at what point the Achubales joined his party, it is impossible to determine their range or affiliations. Indians between the Pecos River and the San Angelo area were being hard pressed by Apache Indians at that time, and it seems likely that the Achubales ranged between these two localities.
