AUSTIN DAILY TEXIAN. The Daily Texian began publication in Austin on November 13, 1841. The paper continued the Austin Texas Sentinel,qv which began in 1840. Greenberry H. Harrisonqv established the Texian as a journal of Senate activities but gave space to the affairs of both houses of Congress. The Daily Texian had four double-column pages, measuring 6½ by 11½ inches. It ran forty-seven issues before stopping publication on February 2, 1842. The paper was also published in a weekly edition.
