AUSTIN DAILY TEXIAN. The Daily Texian began publication in Austin on November 13, 1841. The paper continued the Austin Texas Sentinel,^qv which began in 1840. Greenberry H. Harrison^qv established the Texian as a journal of Senate activities but gave space to the affairs of both houses of Congress. The Daily Texian had four double-column pages, measuring 6½ by 11½ inches. It ran forty-seven issues before stopping publication on February 2, 1842. The paper was also published in a weekly edition.
