AUSTIN SIX-POUNDER. The Six-Pounder is listed in a checklist of Texas newspapers as being published in Austin in June 1840. Since the only reference to the paper is a mention in the Austin City Gazetteqv for June 10, 1840, it is possible that the title was the Gazette's nickname for another newspaper.
