AUBREY, WILLIAM(1853-1941). William Aubrey, lawyer, the son of William and Rosa Matilda (Forsyth) Aubrey, was born in Mobile, Alabama, on July 29, 1853. He attended Dews School at Columbus, Georgia, and Loyola College and Richard Malcolm Johnston School at Baltimore, Maryland. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texasqv in 1874 and began practice at Marshall, where he served as mayor. He moved to San Antonio in 1882 and on February 14, 1883, married Mrs. Sallie E. Weir. They had one son. He married Eugenia Deering Speer on August 25, 1892, and they had three children. Aubrey was dean of San Antonio Law School in 1928 and a director of the Texas Law Review.qv He served as president of the San Antonio Bar Association, as well as of the State Bar of Texas and of the Yanaguana Society.qv He died in San Antonio on January 29, 1941.
