ACTON STATE HISTORIC SITE. Acton State Historic Site, the smallest park in the state park system, is on Farm Road 1190 just outside of Acton in northeast Hood County. The .006-acre site comprises only the Crockett family plot in the old Acton Cemetery. The significant grave at the site is that of David Crockett'sqv second wife, Elizabeth. The state does not own the site, but the Texas Parks and Wildlife Departmentqv maintains the plot.
