ALLEN CREEK (Lee County). Allen Creek, also known as Allens Creek, rises six miles northwest of Lexington in extreme northern Lee County (at 30°30' N, 97°04' W) and flows northeast for thirteen miles through southern Milam County and northern Lee County before emptying into East Yegua Creek on the Lee-Burleson county line 4½ miles west of Hicks (at 30°32' N, 96°55' W). The stream is intermittent in its upper reaches. It flows through generally flat terrain with local shallow depressions and clay loam and sandy loam soils that support water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
