AQUILLA CREEK. Aquilla Creek rises near Parker in extreme southern Johnson County (at 32°14' N, 97°17' W) and flows south for fifty miles to its mouth on the Brazos River, ten miles northwest of Waco (at 31°40' N, 97°10' W). In its upper reaches the creek is dammed to form Aquilla Lake, three miles from Aquilla. Below the lake the stream flows into McLennan County six miles south of Aquilla. The surrounding low-rolling to flat land is surfaced with sandy and clay loams that support brush, cacti, and grass. The area has been used for range and crop land.
