ATKINSON ISLAND. Atkinson Island is a long, narrow island in extreme northwest Galveston Bay, southwestern Chambers County (at 29°40' N, 94°58' W). The island, south of Hog Island, runs north and south and is about three miles long and less than a half mile wide.
