BAKER, ISAAC G. (1804-1836). Isaac G. Baker, Alamo defender, was born in Arkansas in 1804. He immigrated to Texas in 1830 and settled in Green DeWitt's colony. On June 14, 1832, he received title to property in Gonzales. Baker joined the relief force from Gonzales and arrived at the besieged Alamo on March 1, 1836. He died in the battle of the Alamo five days later.
