BROWN, GEORGE (?-?). George Brown, early settler, was in Texas at the time of the census of March 1826, when he was classified as a farmer and stock raiser, a single man aged between sixteen and twenty-five. He was a partner of Charles Belknap as one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred colonists. The partners received title to a sitio of land now in Fort Bend County on May 22, 1827. Brown was possibly a partner of Jacob Eberly in running races at Columbia in October and November 1836. They dissolved their partnership on September 9, 1837.
