BUTLER, GEORGE D. (1813-1836). George D. Butler, Alamo defender, was born in Missouri in 1813 and traveled to Texas by way of New Orleans. During the Texas Revolution he served in the Alamo garrison. He died in the battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836.
