BENNETT, TEXAS (Trinity County). Bennett, on State Highway 94 eleven miles northeast of Groveton in northeastern Trinity County, was established in the late nineteenth century. During the first decades of the twentieth century the area was the site of intensive logging. Many of the residents subsequently moved away, but in the 1990s a church, a cemetery, and a few scattered houses were still at the site.
