BABYHEAD CREEK. Babyhead Creek rises near Babyhead Mountain, eleven miles north of Llano in north central Llano County (at 30°55' N, 98°40' W), and runs southwest for eight miles to its mouth on Pecan Creek, seven miles northwest of Llano (at 30°51' N, 98°43' W). It traverses an area of the Llano basin characterized by flat to rolling terrain surfaced chiefly with fine sandy loams. Local vegetation consists mostly of open stands of live oak and mesquite.
