BIG ELM CREEK (McLennan County). Big Elm Creek rises a mile east of Moody in southwestern McLennan County (at 31°19' N, 97°21' W) and flows southeast for forty-nine miles, through McLennan, Bell, and Milam counties, to its mouth on the Little River, about three miles north of Cameron in Milam County (at 30°54' N, 96°56' W). The stream, intermittent in its upper reaches, crosses nearly level to sloping terrain surfaced by clayey and loamy soils used predominantly for agriculture and occasionally dotted with big elms.
