CAICACHE INDIANS. A few eighteenth century maps show the Caicache (Kaikache) Indians on the Texas coast between the Nueces River and the Rio Grande. The primary sources used by the cartographers have not been identified. Caicache may be a variant of either Aguichacha or Cacaxtle. In the seventeenth century the Aguichachas lived between Monterrey and Cerralvo (Nuevo León) and the Cacaxtles lived farther inland in southern Texas.
