CABIA INDIANS. The Cabia Indians, reported but not located in a document of 1690, have been identified with the Kabaye of the La Salle expeditionqv records, but the identity has never been demonstrated. J. R. Swanton listed the Cabias among his Coahuiltecan bands. Since only the name is known, the status of the Cabias remains in doubt. It is possible that Cabia is merely a variant of the name Cava.
