CANA SCHOOL, TEXAS. Cana School is on Farm Road 2225 four miles northwest of Quitman in northwestern Wood County. A school existed at Cana before World War I. By 1932 the Cana school district offered nine grades of school to seventy-one white students and seven grades to twenty-nine black students. By 1960 the community consisted of a school, a church, and a few scattered dwellings along the road. The 1988 county highway map showed a church and a school at the site.
