COLLWOOD, TEXAS. Collwood was on the Texas and New Orleans Railroad several miles north of Diboll in southern Angelina County. The settlement grew up during World War II, when J. V. Lankford and Sons of Redland moved a small sawmill to the site. The mill evidently closed just after the war, and within a short time most of the residents left the area. In the early 1990s only a few scattered houses remained.
