COFFEE CITY, TEXAS. Coffee City is off State Highway 155 twenty miles southeast of Athens in southeastern Henderson County. The largely residential community developed after the construction of nearby Lake Palestine in the early 1960s. The reported population of Coffee City in 1979 was 178; in 1990 it was 216 and in 2000 it was 193.
