COLORADO FEMALE ACADEMY. Colorado Female Academy, according to the Austin Texas Democratqv of August 16 and 30, 1848, was to be opened in October 1848 at the French Legation,qv by C. W. Howell, president, and Mrs. Maria Howell, governess. The notice of the school specified a school year of two sessions of twenty-two weeks each and advertised the conveniences of Austin for visits of parents to students.
