COON CREEK (Bosque County). Coon Creek rises three miles southeast of Womack in eastern Bosque County (at 31°49' N, 97°27' W) and runs northeast for ten miles to its mouth on the Brazos River (at 31°51' N, 97°20' W). The South Prong of Coon Creek rises three miles northeast of Cayote (at 31°48' N, 97°26' W) and runs northeast for five miles to its mouth on Coon Creek, three miles above the main stream's mouth. The area has flat to rolling terrain surfaced by shallow, stony clay loams that support juniper, mesquite, and grass.
