CADDO CREEK (Stephens County). Caddo Creek, also called Big Caddo Creek, rises in southeastern Stephens County (at 32°34' N, 98°44' W) and flows northeast for thirty-two miles to its mouth on Possum Kingdom Lake, in the northwest corner of Palo Pinto County (at 32°49' N, 98°34' W). It crosses flat terrain marked with local deep and dense dissection and some rolling hills. The soils are clay and sandy loams, locally shallow and stony. Oak, juniper, mesquite, scrub brush, cacti, and grasses grow in the area.
