CLEAR CREEK (Colorado County). Clear Creek rises in two forks in Weimar in western Colorado County (at 29°42' N, 96°47' W) and runs southwest for 9½ miles to its mouth on the East Navidad River, a mile northwest of Oakland (at 29°37' N, 96°51' W). It crosses gently sloping terrain surfaced by dark clay, with some exposed alluvial sandstone, that supports oak, willow, sycamore, hackberry, and pecan, with an understory of wild grape and yaupon. Wildlife is abundant.
