CACTUS CREEK. Cactus Creek rises four miles northwest of Vivian in northwestern Foard County (at 34°06' N, 99°57' W) and runs northeast for ten miles to its mouth on the Pease River, ten miles southwest of Quanah in southwestern Hardeman County (at 34°11' N, 99°53' W). One source of the stream is Seven L Springs, which remained active through the 1970s. Cactus Creek crosses terrain that varies from rolling hills to steep slopes, with a surface of shallow sandy and clay loams in which grow juniper, cacti, and sparse grasses. The creek passes through remote rangeland marked with several sinkholes.
