CATHEDRAL PEAK. Cathedral Peak is just southeast of Pinto Canyon in west central Presidio County (at 30°00' N, 104°30' W). With an elevation of over 4,400 feet above sea level, the peak stands encircled by canyons and higher summits in all directions. Cathedral Peak is composed of intrusive igneous rock from which grow sparse grasses, cacti, and desert shrubs of conifers and oaks.
