DAVIDSON, SAMUEL (?-?). Samuel Davidson, one of Stephen F. Austin's^qv Old Three Hundred^qv colonists, received the title to a sitio^qv of land now in Brazos County on July 21, 1824. The grant is located on the Brazos River near Wellborn and includes Minter Springs. Although it is doubtful that he was the original colonist, a man named Samuel Davidson served in James Gillaspie's^qv company in the Mexican War.^qv
