DAY, JERRY C. (1818-1836). Jerry C. Day, Alamo defender and son of Jeremiah Day, was born in Missouri in 1818. In 1836 he lived near Gonzales, Texas. He was a member of the Alamo garrison during the Texas Revolution, and his father served the Texas forces as a wagoner. Day died in the battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836.
