DAVIS, BIRD B. (ca. 1827-?). Bird B. Davis, who represented Wharton County at the Constitutional Convention of 1875,qv was born into slavery in North Carolina around 1827. He arrived in Texas in 1858 and was married at the time of the convention, where he was one of four black delegates.
