DILLARD, JOHN HENRY (1805-1836). John Henry Dillard, Alamo defender, son of William and Sarah Dillard, was born in Smith County, Tennessee, in 1805. He immigrated to Texas and settled at Nashville-on-the-Brazos. He served in the Alamo garrison and died in the battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836.
