DOSS, TEXAS (Cass County). Doss, on Farm Road 1399 some twelve miles northeast of Hughes Springs in northwestern Cass County, was probably named for the Doss family, early settlers in the area. In 1936 Doss consisted of a cemetery, a small business, and widely scattered houses. The 1983 county highway map showed scattered houses, a church, and a cemetery at the community.
