DAVIDSON CREEK (Milam County). Davidson Creek rises four miles southwest of Milano in southeastern Milam County (at 30°40' N, 96°54' W) and runs southeast for fifty miles to its mouth on Yegua Creek, on the Burleson-Washington county line two miles east of Somerville (at 30°21' N, 96°27' W). The creek, which is intermittent in its upper reaches, traverses low-rolling to flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support scrub brush, cacti, and grasses in the upper reaches of the creek and water-tolerant hardwoods and conifers in the middle and lower reaches. The stream was named for a settler who moved to Texas before 1829.
