EAGLE MOUNTAIN, TEXAS. Eagle Mountain is an unincorporated community located off Farm Road 1220 about twelve miles northwest of downtown Fort Worth in northwestern Tarrant County. This community, named after the nearby lake and dam, probably began by the late 1970s as a residential development along the southeastern shore of Eagle Mountain Reservoir. The first population figures were available in 1990, when Eagle Mountain reported 5,847 residents. The population had increased to 6,599 in 2000.
