EATON, TEXAS (Limestone County). Eaton was near Mills Creek two miles southwest of Thornton in southern Limestone County. It was named for Silas Eaton, who settled on Mill Creek in 1854. The community centered around a gristmill and a school. County highway maps of 1948 showed a few scattered houses at the site.
