ENGLISH PRAIRIE, TEXAS. English Prairie was near the Houston county line between Friendship and Nogalus Prairie in northern Trinity County. It was established sometime in the 1870s or 1880s by John English and his wife and was also called English Town. A school operated there in the early 1900s, and church services were held in the schoolhouse.
