EAST YEGUA CREEK. East Yegua Creek, which is intermittent in its upper reaches, rises nine miles southwest of Rockdale in southern Milam County (at 30°33' N, 97°06' W) and runs southeast for forty-five miles to its mouth, where it joins Middle Yegua Creek to form Yegua Creek on the Burleson-Lee county line fifteen miles south of Caldwell (at 30°19' N, 96°45' W). It traverses generally flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
