EAGLE CREEK (Hamilton County). Eagle Creek rises about a mile southeast of the Bethel cemetery in eastern Hamilton County (at 31°36' N, 97°58' W) and runs southeast for seven miles to its mouth on the Leon River, about four miles south of Jonesboro (at 31°34' N, 97°54' W). It traverses terrain characterized by steep slopes and benches, with shallow clay loams that support juniper, live oak, mesquite, and grasses.
