County). Eagle Creek rises four miles north of the Coke
county line and ten miles northwest of Blackwell in southwestern
Nolan County (at 32°09' N, 100°31' W) and
runs southeast for sixteen miles to its mouth on Oak Creek, a
mile southwest of Blackwell in far northeastern Coke County (at
32°04' N, 100°20' W). It traverses flat terrain
with locally shallow depressions, surfaced by expansive clays
that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
