ELAND ROUGH. Eland Rough is a small chain of hills located along the upper reaches of Pin Oak Creek, four miles southwest of Gause in eastern Milam County (centered at 30°46' N, 96°47' W). The hills have elevations as high as 515 feet above sea level and rise more than 100 feet above the surrounding countryside.
