EAGLE MOUNTAIN
(Hudspeth County). Eagle Mountain is twenty-four miles southeast
of Sierra Blanca in southeastern Hudspeth County (at 30°55'
N, 105°05' W). With an elevation of 7,484 feet above sea
level, it is the highest peak in the Eagle Mountain range. The
surrounding rugged terrain is marked by numerous box canyons and
high relief and is surfaced by shallow, stony soil that supports
Douglas fir, aspen, Arizona cypress, maple, ponderosa pine, and
madrone.
