EAST BOSQUE RIVER. The East Bosque River rises near the southeastern border of Erath County (at 32°08' N, 97°56' W) and runs southeast for seventeen miles to its mouth on the North Bosque River, in north central Bosque County (at 32°00' N, 97°47' W). It is dammed several times throughout its length to form lakes House, Big, Irrigation, and Ownsby. The surrounding terrain is flat with local shallow depressions and is surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
