FARIS, WILLIS A. (?-?). Willis A. Faris, legislator and postmaster, was living in Vicksburg, Mississippi, as early as January 1832. He moved to Texas in December 1834. He was secretary pro tem of the Convention of 1836qv and after the Texas Revolutionqv was appointed postmaster of Columbia. He was elected clerk pro tem of the House of Representatives of the First Congress of the republic on October 6, 1836.
