FISHBAUGH, WILLIAM (?-1836). William Fishbaugh (Fishback), Alamo defender, was a resident of Gonzales. He was mustered into the Gonzales Ranging Company of Mounted Volunteers by Byrd Lockhart on February 23, 1836. He rode to the Alamo with this unit and arrived on March 1, 1836. Fishbaugh died in the battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836.
