FOSTERS STORE, TEXAS. Fosters Store is a farming community on the west bank of the Brazos River two miles north of Snook in eastern Burleson County. Settlement in the area began during the mid-1820s. After the Civil War the Foster family operated a plantation, one of the largest in the county, on the rich Brazos bottomlands. In the early 1890s a number of Italian immigrants took up farming on and around the Foster plantation. The community known as Fosters Store coalesced during the early 1900s on the banks of Middle Bayou near the plantation. Farm Road 166 was extended through the community in the mid-1900s. By the 1950s the community had a business and a church. The population of the Fosters Store community was estimated at ten in 1966, after which no further population statistics were available. In the early 1980s county highway maps showed one business at Fosters Store, and the community was still marked on maps in 2000.
