FANNIN CREEK. Fannin Creek rises four miles southeast of Greenville in south central Hunt County (at 33°01' N, 96°05' W) and runs southeast for about 5½ miles to its mouth on Hickory Cove, part of Lake Tawakoni (at 32°58' N, 96°02' W). The stream traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced with moderately deep to deep sandy and clay loams that support hardwood and grasses. For most of the county's history the Fannin Creek area has been used as crop and range land.
