FALL CREEK (Hood County). Fall Creek rises about three miles west of Cresson in extreme northeastern Hood County (at 32°33' N, 97°41' W) and runs south for fifteen miles to its mouth on the Brazos River, at the North Arm of DeCordova Bend (at 32°23' N, 97°39' W). About half a mile north of the Brazos River, Fall Creek passes between Fall Creek Cemetery and the El Tesoro Campfire Girls Camp. The creek, intermittent at its source, runs through undulating terrain with shallow to moderately deep loamy soils. Stony and shallow soils limits the land's potential for farming and residential use, so it is used for range. Junipers, sumacs, and mesquites grow beside the creek, which runs mainly through open prairie.
