GAYLE ESTATES, TEXAS. Gayle Estates is a rural residential development located four miles northwest of West Columbia and seventeen miles west of Angleton in western Brazoria County. The community began around 1970 and was named for landowner and Brazoria County official John Gayle. His family were early settlers in Brazoria County. No population estimates were available until 2000, when the census reported 102 residents.
