GREESON, TEXAS. Greeson, a farming community thirteen miles southwest of Athens in southwestern Henderson County, had a post office from 1899 to 1905. After 1900 the settlement had a gin and a school, but by the mid-1930s it was no longer shown on county highway maps. In the early 1990s only a few scattered houses remained at the site.
